Withdrawls

I am currently having withdrawls from my new favorite tv show, Castle.
It is on every Monday night at 9:00.  I just started watching it this season, but I absolutely love it!  It is so funny, but still has that crime twist to it (for those of you who don't know...I am obsessed with NCIS, Law and Order's, CSI's).  I could spend all day watching them.  This show however has a witty aspect to it.  Of course, it also has that love dynamic in it with the two main characters having a "thing" for each other, yet never getting together.
Today marks the SECOND week in a row that there is not a new episode!  I did go out and buy season 1 on dvd a few weeks ago to catch up to where they are now.  I have finished it and am now wanting season 2.

Since I'm on the subject of what I want...here is the swim suit that I NEED for this summer:
I think it's fabulous...Aaron said it was okay.  Which begs the question, "To buy, or not to buy?"  What do you think??

Thankful

After a day like today...I am so thankful for a couple of things.

My job.  Although my job was the cause of "a day like today" I am still so thankful to have a job that I enjoy almost every day.  Especially those 60+ days in the summer :)  I know how lucky I am to have a good paying job, especially in this economy.

My husband, who can make me laugh no matter what my day has been like or no matter what my mood is.  He can always put a smile on my face...one of my favorite things about him.

Modern Family.  I look forward to every Wednesday at 8:00.

Enough said.

Pizza and beer.  I am thankful that Pizza Hut delivers in a reasonable amount of time.  I am also thankful that I found a low calorie beer...thank you Michelob Ultra :)

And lastly...I am thankful for a God who loves ME and sent his son to die for ME.  In a day like today, it is comforting to remember, "If God is for us, who can be against us?"

Artist

In these last two weeks, I have started a new hobby.  I like to think of myself as an artist (pronounced ar-teest).  I went to a class called Painting with a Twist.  It is a two or three hour class depending on what picture you are painting.  You can bring in your choice of drink and snacks and they provide all of the painting materials.  There is an instructor who walks you through painting a picture step by step.  I have enjoyed both of my classes and visiting with my friends while we paint, as well as end up with a pretty painting, if I do say so myself :)
Last Friday I went with Julie and we painted Red Landscape.  I wasn't very good at remembering to take pics, so here is one of the completed product.
We were both pretty nervous, but I like how it turned out.  Aaron even gave me the choice of where I wanted to hang it in our apartment!
Yesterday, I went again with Mollie, a good friend of mine(click on her name to read her blog...it's good!).  We had a great time and some good laughs, mostly at our instructor Arnoldo.  He was very funny and would randomly break into dance during the lesson.  We remembered to take pics more frequently so you can see step by step how my masterpiece was created :)
First we painted the canvas yellow then drew the peacocks head.  The next step was to paint the head and draw on the feathers.
Next, we mixed paint to make this orange color and added it into the feathers and in between.
We then did the same thing with purple and green.
Then, we highlighted areas with dark and light blue.
Last was highlighting with white then adding a face to the peacock.  We were supposed to give it eyeshadow too but I was too nervous I would mess it up so I left it off.  I really love this one, and if you attended our wedding you know why :)
Here we are with our GORGEOUS paintings!  I had a blast Mollie, can't wait till next time :)
P.S.  Aaron was not as big a fan of this one...we are currently debating where to hang it.

7 months

Monday was our 7 month anniversary :)
Aaron had been at the fire station on Sunday night (the night of the huge storms here) so he didn't get any sleep.  Needless to say, when he got home Monday evening, he was exhausted.  I had decided earlier in the day that I would surprise him with a great meal and then let him go to bed early...which meant dog sitting for me.  We had some amazing chicken fried steak and yummy sides.
On another note, we went to our first baseball game of the season two weekends ago!  We went to the second game of the season and got to watch the Rangers beat the sox off the red sox (pun intended :)  We rode out to the Ballpark with two of my friends from work and met two of Aaron's baseball buddies at the game.  It was a good time all around, including seeing the Rangers get their ALCS rings!  Can't wait till the next game we are going to...May 8 against the Yankees :)

Last Friday night I went to Painting with a Twist (a painting class where you can bring your favorite drink) with Julie.  We had a great time and actually painted a really pretty picture.  I am going again this Friday with my good friend Mollie!  I will blog about it later with some pictures...I know you can't wait to see it :)

Dinner

I have seen some people post their menu for the week.  I don't think our weekly "menu" is too exciting...however tonight, I thought dinner was pretty good.  Maybe even blog worthy :)
I made some kabobs in the oven (broiled) and we had wild rice to go with it.  Of course I forgot to take a picture of my plate looking all pretty, but I did get a pic of the leftovers!
Not too bad I thought.
Aaron decided to go to the driving range with a friend after dinner...I got stuck doing dishes too.  I think he may owe me a little shopping to make up for it :)

On another note, last night was a bit crazy at his Mawmaw's house.  Paul was really sick all night so Mawmaw called Aaron around 12:15 to see if he could maybe diagnose him.  After about 15 minutes on the phone, it was concluded that they needed to call an ambulance.  Turns out Paul has a kidney stone....NO FUN!  Hope that they (and we) get to sleep better tonight.
Till next time :)
