Holidays

Well, our first holiday as a married couple is upon us :)  I am so excited to spend my first Thanksgiving as a Wood with Aaron's family on Thursday.  As requested by his dad and uncle Paul, I will be bringing banana pudding to our feast.  I truly do love everyone in his family and can't wait to spend all day with them!  We have already planned to go shopping on Friday, just the girls of course, and I think the boys are going to go play golf.  Then, Saturday Aaron and I are going to decorate our apartment for CHRISTMAS!  I absolutely can not wait for the next month and all the things that come with it.  It is already my favorite time of the year (family, friends, good food, music, presents and of course my birthday in January), but now, I get to enjoy it all with my husband :)  Although I will miss my family over Thanksgiving, I am so excited to be with them over Christmas.

On a different note, this weekend I got to go to Abilene and see my Cowgirls make history!  They beat two great teams to move on to the Final Four in San Antonio!  They played amazing and I know they will do great!  It was soooo good to see so many old friends that I went to college with...made me miss the old days just a little bit.  I know that I am blessed to have been a part of such a great team and made so many wonderful lasting relationships :)

True Love

This weekend has consisted of Aaron and I laying on the couch watching tv and napping.  I have a bad cold and he has had a really bad headache.  I have always heard that misery loved company...and I know thats true.  It has actually been nice to do nothing with my husband.  we have laughed, talked and napped and enjoyed each other.  A different weekend than we planned, but still enjoyable (other than the being sick part).
This past week I finally uploaded my bridal shots to Facebook.  I truly loved shooting with Chad and Tressie Zellner.  They made me feel like a model (doesn't every girl want to at some point?).
Here are a few of my favorites :)

Excitement

The MLB playoffs are officially here!  Since Aaron and my two favorite teams are forced to play eachother in this round, I have been having trouble getting excited for the series.  I don't want to see either team lose, I also don't want to hear the trash talking between Aaron and his friends/family.
I am finally excited about it though.  Today, we bought tickets for the WORLD SERIES!  Assuming that Texas wins this series and makes it, we will be going to game 4 at the Ballpark in Arlington.
Either way, we are in a win-win situation.  The Yankees win, our favorite team is back to defend their title (and I get to watch my first love, Andy Pettite for a little longer).  The Rangers win, we get to actually be at a world series game...pretty cool.
So with that said....excited for it all to begin tomorrow :)

Happily Ever After

So...its been awhile.
Since my last blog, we have gotten married, honeymooned, come home and moved Aaron into the apt. and  much more.
The wedding was everything I dreamed it would be...the most perfect day of my life :)
The honeymoon was FABULOUS!  We had an amazing time and just enjoyed each other for the week.
Now that we are back, I already feel like the little old married couple.  We have made dinner and then just watched tv on the couch most nights.  I'm not complaining...I love hanging out with my husband :)  I will leave you with a picture of the beautiful view we woke up to every morning while in Jamaica!

Less Than a Week....

Well, we are down to 6 days left.

I am starting to feel a little crazy now.  I still have several things to finish, but not that much.  Thank goodness :)  I am just so thankful that both places we are using (Prestonwood Baptist and Brookhaven C.C.) are going to set everything up for us.  That way both of our families can enjoy those final days!

So, I haven't blogged in a while, and I still haven't updated our page any (surprise, surprise) but I feel I have some good excuses.
     1. School started 2 weeks ago and I have been going crazy trying to get lesson plans done for my sub for next week when we will be on our honeymoon!
     2. I am still trying to finish getting our new apartment all put together.  It is almost done, but there are still some gifts in the guest room.
     3. Probably the biggest reason, last minute things for the wedding!

Like I said, school has started!  I have 22 cute (sometimes) little kindergarteners :)  I have a really good group this year....YAY!  I had my last shower this past Thursday.  My team at school threw it for me.  It was alot of fun!  We went to a restaurant close by and had queso and drinks.  They had sneakily asked Aaron a bunch of questions and I had to answer them to "earn" my money :)  I did pretty good...but Aaron gave the wrong answers to some of the questions.  Of course it wasn't me :)  Anyways...I had a blast and I absolutely loved all of my showers!

Well, I know this blog was short and all over the place, but thats a little bit how I feel now.  Gotta get back to writing thank you notes.  I am sure that the next time I blog I will be A MARRIED WOMAN :)

Busy, Busy, Busy

Well, its been a while since my last blog and I haven't had time to decorate our blog any...maybe next time :)
I have been sooo busy lately.  Last week I shot my bridal portraits in Abilene with our photographers.  Even though it was super hot, I had an amazing time.  They made me feel so comfortable and I just enjoyed every second of it!  I was also really happy that my mom got to be there with me.  She probably worked harder than I did :)
Wendesday, my mom went with me to my school to set up my classroom.  She says she isn't creative, but she helped me arrange all the furniture in my room and I love it!  I think this set up will be better than last year.  I was able to go to lunch with some of my teacher friends on Wednesday and Friday so that was nice to catch up with them.
Saturday was my Dallas bridal shower.  It was PERFECT!  I had such an amazing time and Aaron and I got ALOT of the stuff that we registered for.  Let me just say that opening presents is super fun, and super tiring.  I spent all Saturday afternoon trying to unpack and put all of the new things away in our new apartment!  I will try to post pictures on here soon (once I figure out how to put them in a post!).
Anyways, since then, my time has been spent writing thank you notes, organizing the new apartment more, thanks to Julie for helping me hang some of our pictures and decorations, and finishing up things for the wedding.  I can't believe that today is exactly ONE MONTH until the wedding!  I am sooooo excited.
In my time planning our wedding, I have found so many talented, creative and FRIENDLY people for various things that need to be done.  For all of my friends who are planning or may soon be planning their own weddings, here is a list of all my favorite wedding people or places.

TWO PAIR PHOTOGRAPHY - Chad and Tressie Zellner are our photographers that I talked about earlier.  They are based in Abilene but will travel anywhere to shoot your event.  They are so creative and fun and awesome!  I can't even say enough about how much I love their work and working with them.  If you want any more info on them, just let me know and I would be happy to give it to you.

CODY HOYA - He is my florist.  He is so incredibly knowledgeable about flowers it blows my mind every time I talk to him.  He is very flexible and lets you provide as much as you can so that it will keep the price down.  We have met several times and our last meeting he even made me a sample bouquet that I used in my bridal portraits.  He works for Brookhaven Country Club but has a horticulture company on the side.

CIRCLE PARK BRIDAL -  This is a bridal shop in Addison.  It is located on Keller Springs right off of the Tollway.  The ladies that work here are so nice!  I did not get my dress here, but I would have if it had been open at the time that I was shopping for my dress.  I did get my incredible hair piece here though!  They have all kinds of accessories: hair pieces, shoes, garters and fun stuff for your bridal party.

DELICIOUS CAKES - Omg...they have the most amazing cake!  I have been craving their Mexican Chocolate cake since our taste test back in March.  I can't wait to have some at our wedding!  It is a family run operation and they are very good at what they do.  Butch, the owner, sat with me and while I described what I wanted, he drew it.  At the end of the appointement, he showed it to me and it was perfect!  For the grooms cake, I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he said he could do it.

MAYBE SEW - This is a seamstress who works out of her home in Carrollton.  She is very friendly and very affordable.  I am having my alterations done by her for less than $100!  Crazy considering the place I bought my dress wanted me to pay over $300 for the same thing.  She is also very fast.  I am scheduled to pick up my dress in about a week.

Hope some of this was helpful...if you want any more info on any of them, just let me know and I can give you their websites or phone numbers :)

Learning Process

Well, after seeing many of my friends start blogs, I have decided to begin a blog to share the last minute wedding goings on and the beginning of our marriage.

I am aware that our blog is a little bare....still learning how to change and spruce it up.  Hopefully I will have it looking better soon :)

So, wedding stuff.
I am meeting with my florist tomorrow to finalize things.  I am so excited to see what he has.  He is bringing a sample of my bouquet which I will use for my bridal portraits that I am taking on Tuesday!  So very excited about that!  I love our photographers, Chad and Tressie Zellner of Two Pair Photography...they are AWESOME!  My mom is getting the invitations ready to send out.  Hopefully they will be in the mail on Tuesday.  Also, this Saturday is my Dallas wedding shower, should be a blast.  Aaron's wonderful aunts are throwing it for me :)

Well, got to get back to the new apartment and finish up moving in.
